Making New Connections Around the World
An important element of our community work is the coordination of open knowledge-focused meetups, hackathons, conferences, festivals and workshops. These events provide essential opportunities for those in our (largely virtual) network to meet one another in person and share new projects and ideas. We also share our work by attending and speaking at conferences and workshops organised by other groups.
As our international community grows, we encourage those in our network to organise meetups like #OpenDataLDN and #AvoinData through our local groups and chapters. To find events in your area or to start one of your own, go to our Meetup Network Page. Want help organising? Drop our Community Team an email here. You can also keep track of upcoming OKFN events through our our blog and Twitter feeds.

Events Attended by OKFN Staff
You can easily find out which events the OKFN team will attend by visiting our Lanyrd Profile. We also update our network via our Public Events Calendar (iCal)
Want someone from our staff to attend one of your upcoming events? Contact us here.
Large-scale Events
In addition to our meetups, hackathons and workshops, hundreds of international community representatives meet each other each year at our annual open knowledge festivals, conferences and camps.
The Open Knowledge Conference (OKCon)

The annual Open Knowledge Conference (OKCon) is a day of presentations, discussions and workshops related to open knowledge. There is always a wide range of participants – from academics, policy makers and lawyers to geeks, artists and civil society activists. For current information see the main OKCon page. For information on past events see the post event information page
Open Government Data Camp (OGDcamp)

Open Government Data Camp is the world’s largest Open Data event, bringing together active members civil-society with policy makers to:
- Build consensus – around core open data principles and values
- Build community – expand and strengthen international open data community
- Share ideas – on the future of open data and how we can do things better
- Make things – from starting projects, to making plans, to writing code
