Kat is a community organiser and researcher who explores the intersections between hardware, technology and social change within communities.

She currently works as the Hacking Popular Culture Liaison for Mozilla in London, UK. In her previous work building communities with the Open Knowledge Foundation from 2011-2013, she coordinated the world's first Open Knowledge Festival 2012 in Helsinki (http://okfestival.org) and managed the Open Knowledge Foundation's Local Groups network (http://okfn.org/local).

Kat is co-founder of the new Open Design Working Group (http://design.okfn.org), and has a MSc Digital Anthropology from University College London for her 2011 research on the role of gender embodiment amongst F/LOSS hackers in Europe (http://shehackers.kaibray.com).
