Open Data and Privacy
The Open Data and Privacy project explores specifically the issues around the rights of individuals to choose what happens to the data held about them. It also work with stakeholders and experts to develop clear principles to guide data publishers when making decisions on opening up personal data.
A database of resources (of clear language, shared terminology, and documented best practices) would be developed and shared to guide the various actors (researchers, practitioners, data publishers, journalists) when communicating and working around these topics (of privacy, personal data, open data, big data, and shared data). Equally important is the need to connect with the larger open-data-privacy larger community (activities, projects, individuals), and the project is currently investigating the environment for possible partners for the next phase of activities .
