Nurunnaby Chowdury

Nurunnaby Chowdhury currently serves as a journalist, researcher, and expert in digital communication. Additionally, he has contributed his expertise to various organizations including Wikipedia, Creative Commons, Bangladesh Open Source Network, Mozilla Bangladesh Community, Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad Committee, and Society for the Popularization of Science, Bangladesh, among others. As an author, he focuses his writing on topics such as technology, science, open source, and open knowledge. He has authored five books in Bengali, which were showcased at the National Book Fair and all books are published under CC license. Chowdhury is dedicated to the advancement of open source and open knowledge initiatives, a commitment he has upheld since 2006, reflecting his belief in the principles of Open Philosophy.

Wasi, with an academic background in finance, is passionate about documenting the world through open-source photography and videography. He has founded and participated in several open-source media projects, contributing over 20,000 open source media files. As one of the two South Asian certified trainers for the Wikimedia Foundation's Organizer Lab program, he is working to increase organizational capacity in the grassroots open source communities. Wasi is interested in the intersection of law and open knowledge advocacy. He aims to build capacity to positively influence public perception towards open knowledge and encourage widespread participation in knowledge creation.

Rafi is a Bioinformatics Engineering student with a passion for Open Knowledge. He has founded and co-founded several Open Knowledge and Wikimedia teams in Bangladesh and beyond. As a certified trainer for the Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom program and a student fellow of the Open Learning Collective, a US-based OER consultancy, he is deeply interested in open education and its positive social impact on communities. Rafi is also a youth advocate for Wikimedia and the broader open knowledge ecosystem. He is committed to equitable decision-making and the empowerment of the Global South within the governance of Wikimedia and other open knowledge ecosystems.
