Their mission involves advocating and fostering open projects and tools, enabling the unrestricted dissemination of information. Additionally, they actively participate in shaping open policies and guiding the trajectory of Internet governance. Their central areas of concentration encompass ensuring access for all, championing digital literacy, promoting the availability of open educational resources, curating localized language content, and spearheading initiatives related to GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums) as well as Research and Development. Their conviction lies in the empowerment of openness through an all-encompassing approach and comprehensive systems designed to bolster open projects. With a strong emphasis on inclusivity, they are dedicated to supporting open projects in a manner that resonates with their collective vision.

Maxwell Beganim

Maxwell Beganim

Maxwell Beganim is an inspiring Educator, tech enthusiast, and Environmental sustainability advocate. As the founder of Kumasi Wiki Hub, he empowers learners through knowledge and digital literacy. Co-Founder of Wiki Green Initiatives, organizers of Wiki Green Conferences.

He serves as Knowledge Manager of the Ghana Pidgin Wikimedia Community, preserving linguistic diversity. He actively advocates for indigenous languages as a Co-organizer of the Ghanaian Languages Wikimedia Community.

Maxwell holds executive roles in internet governance, including Chairperson of Climate Change and Emerging Technologies at the Internet Society Ghana Chapter. He serves as a steering committee member of the Ghana Youth Internet Governance Forum and a steering committee member of the Ghana Internet Governance Forum. Moreover, he serves as the Chapter Advisory Council Representative for the Education Special Interest Group at the Internet Society.

Maxwell is an Implementing Associate of KiwixforLearning, ensuring knowledge reaches all, even in areas with limited digital access. He further contributes to community development through Open Street Map Ghana.

Sadik Shahadu

Sadik is a researcher and digital language activist, and a certified Wikipedia trainer, researcher, and Social Media Manager for MHz Foundation and Curationist.org. I am also the executive director and co-founder of the Dagbani Wikimedians User Group, and working to support the 16 Mole-Dagbani languages on Wikipedia and its sister projects. He is currently serving as the West African Indigenous Language Coordinator at Art+Feminism and a steering committee member of the Wikimedia Language Diversity Hub. Outside Wikimedia, He serves on the advisory of the UNESCO 'Open Education for a Better World' program, is a Mozilla Open Leader X fellow, MozFest wrangler mentor, and ambassador for Mozilla Festival 2022.

He is Wikimedia volunteer, language activist, and translator. He is the Lead and Co-founder of the Ghanaian Pidgin Wikimedians Community. He also co-organised the Ghanaian Languages Wikimedians Community.

Francis Acquah Amaning

Francis Acquah Amaning works for the Ghana Domain Name Registry. He is the co-chair of the Ghana Internet Governance Forum and a member of the organizing committees for the West Africa and Africa Internet Governance Forums. He is currently a member of the Internet Society's Chapter Advisory Council and the Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Board on the Assessment of UNESCO's Internet Universal Indicators.

Francis has served as Vice Secretary and Secretary of the Internet Society Ghana Chapter, and he is presently the President of the Internet Society Ghana Chapter.

Daniel Abugre Anyorigya

Daniel Abugre Anyorigya, is an award-winning Ghanaian journalist.

Abugre is credited with co-authoring five and authoring one environmental investigative stories, and articles on the carbon market and human rights.

He is a co-founder of the Gurene Wikimedia Community, which is focused on digitizing the Gurene language and its people on Wikimedia Foundation projects.

He actively participates in the Wikimedia community and has co-led and co-founded projects such as The Ghana Histo Cita-thon, Wiki-Green Conference, and the Ghanaian Pidgin Wikimedian Community.

He is also a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry, and he has worked to bridge the technology skills gap for underserved communities in Africa and globally.

Joris has developed initiatives and tailored programs to drive greater inclusion and diversity in tech, and he has provided free tech educational and professional opportunities to over 9,000+ Africans. He has been feted by tech communities in Ghana and Africa for his advocacy efforts, and he is a role model for young people interested in tech. Joris is committed to making a positive impact on the world through data science, and he is a tireless advocate for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.

Otuo-Akyampong Boakye is an educator, open knowledge enthusiast, passionate Wikipedian, and the President of the Kumasi Wikihub who is driving change and empowerment through his dedicated work. With a unique blend of expertise in environmental science, education, and open knowledge sharing, Otuo-Akyampong is making significant contributions to education, environmental conservation, and the dissemination of accessible information.

As a Wikipedian, Mr. Boakye co-founded the Wiki Green Initiative. This initiative harnesses the collective knowledge of volunteers to create and curate content related to environmental issues on platforms like Wikipedia, Wiki Commons, and Wikidata.

Thomas is a Ph.D. student at the University of Arizona with a specialty in using cutting-edge computational tools to design new materials with improved properties. I am a Falling Walls Lab Finalist and open knowledge contributor, and I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering from KNUST. I am also a co-founder of Materials Innovation Hub, a student club that fosters a culture of creativity, collaboration, and curiosity to drive breakthroughs in materials science and engineering.

Fuseini Mohammed Kamal-Deen is a Wikimedian in Residence and trainer who is passionate about using technology to promote education and cultural heritage. He is a co-lead of the Gurene Wikimedia Community and a member of the Cyber Security Professional Association in Ghana. He contributes to Wikimedia projects under the username User: Dnshitobu and is a co-facilitator in the Dagbani Wikipedia Saha tele-education program on TV. He is a professional teacher with a background in Information technology and a volunteer for many other community organizations.

Ruby Damenshie-Brown is a dedicated advocate for open knowledge, Wikipedia, and women's and climate causes, bringing extensive experience in project and program management to her work. Since 2019, she has been an engaged Wikipedia editor, making substantial contributions across a wide range of topics. Additionally, she serves as a project coordinator and volunteer for the Open Knowledge Ghana Community, demonstrating her commitment to fostering open knowledge initiatives. Ruby is recognized as a PanAfrica Green Academy Fellow, a fellow for Green Digital skills, a Fellow of the Ghana Internet Governance, and a WikiforHumanRights Fellow for 2022, further highlighting her active involvement in various impactful initiatives.

Abigail Afi Gbadago

Abigail Afi Gbadago

Abigail Afi Gbadago is a software engineer with a passion for open source, community building and sharing her experiences through speaking engagements and articles. She has gained experience in several Open Source organizations, including Open Street Map Ghana and HOT where she contributed to mapping projects, data for fundraising opportunities, observability/monitoring tools and technical support issues which support the Open Street Map that aids in humanitarian action and community development through open mapping. She is an open-source contributor, coach, and speaker in communities and organizations such as Everything Open Source and the Jenkins Pipeline Help Project, Rails Girls, Django Girls Ghana, Python Ghana and PyLadies Ghana events, where she speaks on open-source, opportunities and tools.
