Conflux Centre and Open Knowledge are collaborating on an open learning initiative to help peace negotiators use AI most confidently and effectively.
The problem
It is well known that the use of AI is impacting information ecosystems everywhere – including for information warfare – but far less known how it is affecting diplomatic processes and de-escalation dialogues behind the scenes.
The opportunity
To offer practical advice on the limitations and potential benefits of AI for diplomatic and political stability workers on cross-cultural communication efforts, including negotiation simulations and the politics in different LLMs.

Conflux Center is a politically independent non-profit organisation that promotes international cooperation, intercultural dialogue and mediation as essential tools in addressing challenges and threats to world peace and security. We strive to build the capacity of states, intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations for mediation and other forms of peaceful resolution of disputes, and to contribute to peace operations of the United Nations, the European Union and other regional organisations. Our primary activities include training, consulting, research, publications, organising and providing a platform for the exchange of experiences, best practices and trends.

Open Knowledge’s AI Learning Labs is an initiative that aims to experiment with AI, translate knowledge from social sector organisations around the world, and produce public, multilingual AI-literacy resources tailored for organisations addressing similar issues elsewhere.
Together, we will catalyse learning and develop replicable methods to help organisations build AI skills, use AI responsibly, and develop their own AI projects. All resources will be openly available at School of Data.
